This is my second year being apart of this glamourous event. This time I was asked to be lead hairstylist in collaboration with Makeup Artist Emilka Mielnik (lead makeup)! It was an honor I was not about to pass. The lead for this event was given to me by referral from Ninozka Panelli. Our makeup, hair and photography team set up quickly and even started early to ensure all the presenters and the band were ready for show time.
This year I brought with me two fellow hairstylists- Zeba, Marisol, Sherry Adud and Neeti to do makeup. We had the privilege of working on Costume Designer Joanna Syrokomla, Actor Chistian Lloyd, Actress Kristin Booth, Actress Lucy Hill, Actor Raoul Bhaneja, Actress Rhoslynne Bugay and Actress Steffi Di Domenicantonio as well as the band members.
I personally did hair for Christian LLoyd, Raoul Bhaneja,Rhoslynne Bugay Joanna Syrokomla and touchups on Steffi DiDomenicantonio. Every one of these people were nothing short of professional, kind, funny and a pleasure to have in our chair. Start to finish it was an adrenaline rush and it did take a few hours after the event for that adrenaline to settle back to normal.
One of my favorite parts of doing this show it seeing the dispay of costumes actually used in film and television. The creative artistry done by the costume designers really is a wearable work of art. Hair, makeup and costume are all sister departments that bring a character visually to life. I love that the costume community celebrates their creators.
Creativity never seems to have peaked in this field and it supports the need for creativity in hair, makeup and wigs to continually look outside the box. For most people makeup and hair can become their tried and true pony tail and neutral tones. But for the creatives, the standard is raised by great character creations.
Continuing to have living actors, sets, makeup, hair, human written stories, camera people and living crew- its important. Stepping into a world that looks and feels real is the escape we need from a world being taken over by AI and robotics.

As I continue to grow with Vibe Productions, I want real people filmed in real places! If we need to create a world of make believe, I want it created by human artists.
