Through an amazing connection working freelance with Ninoska Panelli, last winter, I went to work on an upcoming reality series with Model Incorporated. The owner and star of the show Sarah Tahseen and I connected, thus leading to more runway hair and makeup events with her. About a month ago she brought me onboard for a fashion show for SOCLUB.

SOCLUB is a networking organization that helps bring together professionals and buisness awareness. This event was nothing short of awesome. Even though I was working and preparing models for the fashion how, I also got a chance to start to talk about Vibe-A-Licious Studios and Vibe Productions. Half the battle with buisness is getting your name out there. So any chance of promotion and exposure is always a good thing. I brought along my apprentice Marisol to do the majority of the hair on the models I was working on while I did the makeup. Its not uncommon to have a hair and makeup artist work on one person at the same time. It helps to be efficient and makes it easier on the model in the chair so they aren't sitting for prolonged periods of time.
High fashion is about speed and perfection, all the while supporting the model and helping them feel confidence before walking the runway. For me doing makeup and hair for fashion is a massive adrenaline rush. I was never really into the fashion industry prior to becoming a makeup artist. But after retraining my skills in makeup I found a love for the runway. I love the variety of clothing. I love the ever changing looks based on the demand of the clothing featured in that particular designer. And more than ever, I love to learn about the humanity behind the models.
Many of the models are humble, kind and love the feel of the different clothing. They aren't arrogant or vane (yes I have met models like that, but none on the model incorporated team.) You learn which models make you feel apart of the team and the ones you look forward to working with. The SO Club event was not my last and a massive thank you to Sarah and Irina Yoffe for having me. To Autumn, Saffron, Georgia, Nat, Nicole, Olga, Jonathan, Andre and Store Celeste thank you for making this event a personal joy for me to do. It's because of who you are and the professionalism you bring.
